4/1/2023 0 Comments Gen 6 momotype steel teamPrior to Generation III, there used to be a Bird type which was only applied to Glitch Pokémon such as MissingNo. Explosion might be a better choice than Iron Defense, if only for the shock value piled on shock value. These 18 types apply to both Pokémon and their moves. Agility is also an option, and it doesn't require too many EVs in Spd to outrun a variety of critters.Īlso hooray for special attack Metagross. Relying on its Atk rather than Sp Atk is definitely going to surprise a few people, but I'd really recommend Swords Dance to boost that less-than-impressive Atk. Overall, this set looks pretty solid - the only thing missing is recovery, which alas, Aggron does not get. Special bonus points for Metal Burst Aggron! I love Metal Burst, if only because it's a big "hey, screw you" to people who think they can one-hit KO Aggron with a Fighting or Ground attack, despite his obscene physical defense. Particularly given that most tanks are either slow enough to reduce Gyro Ball's attack power, or simply outright resist Steel. It won't stop Leftovers recovery, so it'll only really be useful against tanks or Sleep Talkers, which you're going to have serious trouble breaking through with Bronzong's weak attack. ^^įor Bronzong, you might consider replacing Heal Block. Not for everyone, but definitely an interesting idea. As a side note, some people run Swords Dance Lucario without any speed at all, relying on Extremespeed, Bullet Punch, and other priority moves to make up for his less than amazing speed. Lucario's defenses are not that great, so it's going to need all the help it can get in order to get a Swords Dance off. Lucario looks pretty solid, though I would recommend a slight EV investment in HP. As for its moveset, you might want to slip Whirlwind in somewhere, to make better use of Spikes and to guard against people who will use Soundproof Pokemon to prevent Aggron from using Roar. Even with a huge investment in its weaker stat, it still won't be taking special hits very well at all - better to focus on what Skarmory is good at. It's physical defense is amazing, but keep in mind Skarmory's HP is only 65, and its Special Defense is only 70. Skewing Skarmory's EVs towards Special Defense is probably not a very good idea. Modest Nature, 252 EVs in SpAtk and SpDefĪs always, all thoughts, comments, criticisms, brainwaves, e-tongue lashings, inane babblings etc. Alright, here's your team!Įmpoleon Sharp Beak/Soft Sand (to give a little boost to the non-STAB moves) Up until Gen IV, there really weren't that many great Steel attacks (the only one I used up until this point was Meteor Mash on Metagross), so usually, you're banking on your Poké's secondary typing or attacks that you won't get STAB on for effective offense. On the flipside, however, Steel STAB is almost useless, super-effective against only two types (Rock and Ice). In fact, the average 121 base Defense rating is the highest for any type. Steel types also typically have high defenses. In fact, it's impossible for Steel types to be poisoned. The other twelve? Eleven are NOT VERY EFFECTIVE, while Poison-type attacks don't faze Steels at all. There are three types super-effective against Steel and two normally effective. It is definitely the best defensive type. It was the other of two new types added to the world of Pokeymans in Generation II, further softening the blow landed by the hard hand of the Psychic-type in Gen I. Now, onto this week's monotype entry, the Steel type. Ditto? I guess you'll all just have to find out later, won't you? :p Who will be on it? Will there be a Clefable sighting? How about Snorlax is he going to sleep (Talk) through the proceedings? Granbull? Wigglytuff? Girafarig? Staraptor? Fearow? Raticate?. It'll be the last monotype team that I'll debut (hey, you gotta give me time to build this team), and I'll do it in battle mode on the Wi-Fi. Firstly, the Normal-type team is ahead right now, that'll be the team I go with.
